small satisfactions

i am drying tiny plates of herbs from our garden on the top of my refrigerator: chamomile, oregano, rosemary. after many years, i've finally acquired a taste for chamomile, and after an ongoing battle with aphids, had my first cup of tea from fresh the flowers a few days ago. It smelled of sweet hay and comfort, like putting on your favorite pair

Nice! I am currently drinking a blend of peppermint and chamomile tea. All I had to do was open boxes, though--your way is cooler. :-D
