book <3: Thread of Grace

I just finished listening to Thread of Grace by Mary Doria Russel.  I highly recommend both the book and the audiobook (which is very well read).  Unlike her previous work ('literary science fiction', I heard it called) it's historical fiction.  It's about Italy during World War II which had the highest survival rate for Jewish people in all of ( Read more... )

I love her and use her first two books (mostly the first) in my Artificial Intelligence & Science Fiction class. You make me want to read the third. I don't really have any good recommendations for you, although I did enjoy Diana Gabaldon's series (which was historical fiction + time traveling so that she wouldn't have to worry about accidental anachronisms).
