I'm commenting more in-depth on the next chapter, but I did note a few typos here.

he is lost in a treatise on blood replacement in last month’s Trauma. Trauma should be italicized.

“Did look at the cytoplasm for immunoglobulin?” A noun is missing, or you could delete "did".
