Writer's Block: Set Sail

A few things about this.

1. The title, "Set Sail," is a reference to "ships," oh so clever.

2. Ship, as defined by Urban Dictionary: "N: Short for romantic relationship, popularized in fanfiction circles; V: To endorse a romantic relationship." Originally comes from X-Files, where people who wanted Mulder and Scully to get together were " ( Read more... )

Hey there,

I just sort of randomly found your lj and got sucked into it instantly. I think we're geek-equals. Are you still planning on applying for Fall 09? Thats my game plan as well and it'd be awesome to talk to you more about it!

Haha, any fellow geek is a friend of mine!
I will most likely not be doing Fall 09, sadly, as I'm probably going to do summer school and stay an extra semester so I can make up my lack of classes from doing this. But I'll probably be coming back to work parttime or something in January '10. (Ahh, so far away, omg.) What role(s) are you interested in?
And I'm adding you as a friend, most of my entries are friendlocked because of my special Disney friends that I often write about. :)

I'm hoping to be a character performer, pending passing the audition. I was pretty confident about it, but now I'm not sure how everything is going with hiring freezes, etc.. In fact, I'm thinking about flying somewhere east (I live in Austin, TX) to go to an earlier audition. Do you know if they fill the slots as they move west or if they wait until all the auditions are complete before they pick who they want? It doesn't seem like its the latter, but I've emailed college recruiting over Thanksgiving and I think my email must have been accidentally overlooked because I never got a response. Just wondering if you knew how it worked... I'd rather not spend hundreds of dollars to fly east if I don't need to but I definitely want it bad enough to do just that if it'll make any difference ( ... )

They have a number of slots assigned for each audition, for both Fall and Fall Advantage, so even if you go to a later one, they will have spots left still. I had attendant, attractions, and merch after performer on mine, but I don't know that I would have come here for merch, tbh, since it totally screwed up my school timeline, but oh well, lol.

If you have any character performer questions, or want to know anything about the audition or program or whatever, feel free to ask and I'll tell you what I know! :)
