I really admired the way that you wrote Lana in this, because I think it's good to see her acknowledge that this is how things are supposed to be, in a more positive note. So many people who write Clois fic, seems to make her out to be a bitch. And, while Lana did make a lot of mistakes, I also like the fact that you had Lois admit that she had mistakes, and that maybe there was an understanding of sorts between the two of them, and she didn't stop liking Lana because Clark loves her.

I liked Lana, despite the many times I've wanted to channel my inner Gibbs where she was concerned, and just smack her upside her head in regards to Clark. And, I think that she was always a better person, when her and Clark were just friends. So, you really did write another wonderful piece. I love your descriptions and I love the quietness in tone, of this particular installment.

It was just, beautiful. Thank you, for sharing it with us. :)

I think that Lois is very mature in that respect: she understands that it's not Lana's fault that Clark loves her or that Lois loves Clark, so she doesn't blame her for it. I really liked the way they handled it in "Bride": Lois wasn't angry or vengeful at either Clark or Lana and she didn't play the woman scorned; she was just sad and sort of wistful about it all.

I find it a little aggravating that so much Clark/Lois fic is about villifying Lana too. I understand why people do it, but it's not something I'm particularly interested in reading.

Thankyou. ♥

I think that you're right, in your assessment of her. And, I like that you were able to channel that aspect of her, and write this part of the series in such a mature and respectable way. That's what I've spent the last several years trying to explain to fandom, that it's not Lana's fault that Clark pined away after her and it's not her fault, that some part of her loved him too.

And, I agree with you, that they really did handle it very well in "Bride", as far as Lois was concerned. It pained my heart, to see her so sad and wistiful about it, but it made for such a beautiful scene though.

There really is no reason to villify Lana, because like you and I've both said, it really wasn't her fault that the writer's really screwed over her character as far as Clark being in her life of her being in his. I get why they do it, but it's just not really necessary, at the same time.

You're welcome.

I love that you touched on the yummy dynamic between Lois Lane and Tess Mercer.

I enjoyed seeing Lana through Lois' eyes.

I felt Lois' aching heart. Clana. *frowny face*

And I dream that someone pressed a warm mouth to my temple, and with trembling fingers brushed the hair out of my eyes, and from there all that was sensitive and warm about me blossomed, unfurled softly in the night.

Not a dream. <3

I wish that Smallville had elaborated on Lois's relationship to Lana. But then, I wish that Smallville had done a lot of things relating to Lana differently.

This was beautifully simple, and exactly what I needed to read after the finale. Thank you.

I really like how you're taking all the many things that effect their relationship, not just the things between them. Like Clark, I wasn't expecting to see Lana again, but I think it felt very natural. My heart broke for Lois when she was thinking how Lana is better for him and how Clark and Lana would be together.

I think I am exposing my back to him and asking him to lace them up. He would be gentle; he wouldn't yank. His fingers would brush over my skin, and I would think I knew him from the inside out.

Wow, I completely love this image.

Thank you. I think that Lois probably has a lot of hidden insecurity re: Lana, although she would never admit to it -- not because she has reason to be insecure, but just because underneath the Lois Laneness of her she really is quite a vulnerable person.
