[The last thing he knew, the ghost of his father was warning him he was about to die and commissioning him to create his requiem.

And then he was here. All he knows is that this isn't home and he's sure he isn't dead. His father would have given him much more time. But he has his dreamberry, built like a phone right now. He keeps playing with it and ( Read more... )

[Irritated? Perhaps.]

Would you stop clicking your Dreamberry on and off? Others can see this, you know, and it's distracting to see small bursts of video every few seconds. If you wish to send a video, do it properly!

[...he recognizes that humming a bit, though. Well, as well as one can make a familiar tune out of some disjointed humming.]

What are you humming, if I might ask?

[Give him a moment because there's a man face in this toy talking to him. Despite everything, he's amused and he smiles. Ignore the fact this man is irritated. He usually ignores that stuff anyway.]

This is an interesting toy!

[The question hits him and his smile dims just a little.]

Ah, a...commission. It's not much right now, just barely an idea. But it'll be beautiful.

Interesting though it may be, it's hardly a toy! [because ripoff weird Blackberries are more useful than toys.

He thinks over the answer to his question for a brief moment. The tune did sound familiar, and if it were a commission, as this person claimed, he must be a musician. Austria did have several ideas as to the identity of this person (since recognizing a bit of humming from a piece that's still 'just barely an idea' is difficult even for him), he wasn't about to ask and make a fool out of himself.]

A commission? You're a musician, then?

Then what else is it? [It can do all sorts of things like this and that and this. It has people talking to him and saying interesting things. It is clearly meant to amuse you.

The next question makes him smile widely.]

Yes. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at your service, sir. The best Vienna has.

[Cocky? Yes. But why be modest?]

[Like Austria, when Chopin heard the humming, he vaguely recognized it as well.]

Sir, you're not loosing you mind, and this isn't a hallucination. Just, please, calm down and refrain from breaking your Dreamberry. [... It felt odd to call the thing by its name, since the odd device still made no sense to him either.]

Am I really not losing my mind...? Hm.

[Honestly, he's not too sure about that.]

But please explain yourself, 'Dreamberry'. I will try not to break you then, though you really don't seem too breakable. I'm not even sure what you're made of.

Ah... [He can't help but chuckle at that. It was an understandable assumption though.]

You misunderstand. I'm not the Dreamberry. Your Dreamberry is the object you're holding right now. It lets you speak to people who are far away from you.

[He has no idea what any of that means. Very confused 18th century man on your hands now.]

Explain?

[Salieri had temporarily fallen asleep in his chair over here at the tavern, but he wakes with a start at the sound of a familiar voice he hasn't heard for a couple months now. He stares at the Dreamberry, wondering if he was in the middle of an odd dream. Not that these last two months haven't been an odd dream, but this would make it that much odder]

[he reaches for the device, but misses grabbing it and instead just hits it with the tips of his fingers. It teeters on the edge of the desk before it loudly clatters on the ground.]

[more shuffling here as the Dreamberry slides around on the floor; he finally gets a hold on it and stares at it--yes, that is exactly who he thought it was]

[Why is he here? Why is he here?! Salieri was comfortable here, he had almost forgotten, almost happy--he is going to ruin everything]

Lost in your mind? That sounds like a rather interesting take on Somarium.

Well, I have gotten lost in it before. Or something to that effect. It happens.

Well, I suppose in a sense, that's what everyone here is doing. Somarium is a dream world after all.

Yes, it's rather peculiar. It makes me wonder, though.

[Hi there. That switching on and off of video? It's giving him a headache.]

Would you please stop that!?

[He kind of laughs.]

You should be a little less uptight! Or ask nicely at least.

clonezart January 12 2011, 07:48:32 UTC
Shut up! If you knew who you're talking to, you'd know better than to talk to me like that.

[But at least the video flickering seems to have ceased.]

And who would you be, sir?

[Sarcasm, it is there.]
