Anthony always hated Halloween.

He had never liked it, all through childhood he had never been enthusiastic. When he was younger he was bullied, he had no friends, and he was too shy and embarrased to go alone.

Anthony was always clever when he was young, part of the reason he was bullied. He knew his parents were poor, but every year his parents would desperately scrape together a bit of money to buy sweets for the greedy, unapreciative, kids who bullied their son. Anthony tried to stop them, he didn't want his parents to waste their money on the horrible people but he couldn't bring himself to tell his parents that he was being bullied. He would tell his parents that he had walked into a pole if he had bruises on his face. He would tell them he had eaten all his packed lunch when the bullies had in truth, taken his food and left him with nothing.

Halloween was just another way for them to get him.

When he was 11, his parents made him a suprise costume. A simple white blanket with holes for eyes and a scary mouth sewn on sloppily. His mum told him that some of his 'friends' had come 'round and asked him if he wanted to go trick-or-treating with them. His mum had been delighted to see all his little 'friends', she said yes. Anthony thanked his parents and fixed a wide smile on his face, but inside he was screaming. When the night came, the others came to pick him up. They greeted him and complimented his costume. They graciously accepted the sweets that his parents had worked so hard to buy. They took Anthony's arms and led him away from safety. As soon as Anthony's mum and dad turned away and left, they shoved Anthony to the ground and kicked him in the stomach. They all laughed and yenked him back again. The leader of the group, Dan, pulled Anthony towards him.

"Whatcha gonna do is knock on door with us, take the sweeties, them give 'em to us. You understand, nerd?"

Anthony nodded his head until he grew dizzy. Dan laughed and the others walked to the next house, leaving Anthony doubled over and shivering.

At the end of the night, the others all gathered around Anthony, surrounding him so there was no escape. A girl, Jodie, walked forward and snatched away Anthony's pot of sweets. Anthony had gotten more sweets than anyone else. The adults had seen his poorly made costume and gave him extra to compensate, not that he would be getting any. They pushed Anthony down to the ground. Two boys, Milo and Darcy, held down so he couldn't get up as the others fought over Anthony's sweets. Anthony heard quiet footsteps behind him and he looked up. Darcy hissed at him.

"Keep your head down, idiot."

They didn't hear the footsteps. The grip on Anthony was released and the wind picked up slightly as Milo and Darcy were yanked backwards. Anthony glanced for a second at the group, still bickering over who gets what sweets, before he too was pulled backwards, gently this time, and upwards. The boy in front of him smiled, but Anthony couldn't see any more of his face.

"Quick Anthony, let's go!" The boy whispered urgently before pulling Anthony's arm and breaking into a run. And God he ran fast. Anthony had never seen another 11 year old run so fast and he just allowed himself to be pulled along.

They stooped when they reached the nearby park. The boy sat on the bench, panting slightly. Anthony stood in front of him in a childish sort of awe. The moonlight hit the boy's face and Anthony could see all the features. His pale skin glowed, but his forehead was covered by a sweep of brown hair, unmistakably the shape of a bowl. He had a small nose and delicate lips, both shaped perfectly for his round face. His eyes were Anthony's favourite part. They were so blue. Bluer than the sea, the sky anything. He didn't know how to describe them other than beautiful. Anthony blushed in his observation. That sounded completely gay, but he liked it.

"My name's Ian." The boy said and he blinked his wide blue eyes. He held out his hand and Anthony met it with his own. They shook hands.

"I'm Anthony, you are in my English class aren't you?" Anthony asked. He wanted to keep up conversation with the only guy who had talked to him like a real person for ages. Anthony sat down with Ian and they talked away for hours. Anthony knew his parents would be worried but he couldn't pull himself away from the cool blue eyes of his new crush.

After that, they became inseperable, best friends.

That was 7 years ago, but the hate for the festival never left Anthony. Neither did his crush on Ian, but he had never voiced that opinion, whereas his hate for Halloween was widely known. He mentioned it on many Smosh videos lately.

"Hey Anthony, you ready to go yet?"

"Nah, just a couple minutes Ian." Anthony replied with a sigh. He was only going for Ian. He didn't want to go to any Halloween parties but Ian had pouted and widened his beautiful eyes and Anthony had caved in. Tonight was the party and Anthony had been dreading it for months.

Ian suddenly burst through the door. He was wearing all black which made his pale eyes brighten. He looked amazing.

"C'mon Anthony!" Ian whined and he threw himself on Anthony's bed.

"Y'know, normal people knock on people's bedroom doors, and then don't leap onto their beds?" Anthony replied with a casual grin, trying to mask his want to just pull Ian into his arms.

"Yeah, well, this is my house too, so, I'm allowed." Ian replied smugly. It was true, Anthony didn't mind and they had been sharing a house for two years. "Hey, we look the same!" Ian said looking at Anthony's clothes.

"Yeah, apart from height, hair colour, eye colour, my huge nose, me being way sexier than you and so on." Anthony widened his grin at Ian's mock insulted face.

"Excuse me Mr Padilla, but I am pretty sexy myself, just look at me!" Ian leaped up and struck a pose. Anthony couldn't hold himself in anymore and he burst into laughter.

"S-sure." He stuttered. There was so much more he wanted to say but now wasn't the time. Ian stuck his toungue out at Anthony's screwed up face and made his way to the door.

"You're ready now, so lets go." Ian said with a hint of his earlier whiny voice.

"Fiiiiiiiine!" Anthony heaved himself from the bed and joined Ian at the door.

The music blasted throught the speakers, loud enough to deafen weak ears. Anthony and Ian walked through the hall door that was covered in fake spiders. Well, Anthony walked, Ian practically skipped. The hall was packed with people, mainly in black like Anthony and Ian themselves. Anthony glanced around the room, he didn't know many people here. But they knew him. There were Smoshers here. He could see shirts and hats with their symbols on. He turned to Ian.

"Hey, don't tell anyone who we are." Anthony meant to whisper, but to get throught the music he had to shout, but no one else could here. Ian looked around confused. Realisation hit him and he turned and nodded at Anthony.

"Hey, lets go on this one! No this one, no wait! Lets try this one!" Ian squealed as they exited the hall and walked onto the field where all the rides were. Anthony half sighed and half laughed.

"Well choose one or it'll be time to go soon!" Anthony threw his hands in the air. He couldn't wait for the night to be over.

"Fine! This one." Ian pointed to the ride with the longest line. Anthony's mouth dropped open in protest but Ian pouted his lips and widened his ocean eyes. Anthony gave up and let Ian pull him towards the ride.

They finally got to the front of the line and they climbed into the mine cart. They would be riding through a dark mine. Ian was excited and Anthony mimicked him, not wanting to annoy Ian. The ride started and they were thrown into the dark. It was silent until things popped out, and screams blared in our ears. Ian moved closer to him. Anthony knew Ian was afraid of the dark. Anthony laughed in his mind at Ian's bad choice of rides. Ian moved closer still, pratically hugging Anthony. Anthony's heart was beating wildly. Calm down, he's just scared, Anthony told himself. Ian's arm slipped behind Anthony's back and he looked down to Ian's face, which was already turned up to his. Ian smiled and leaned upwards.

Ariel was tired of waiting. She was an impatient person by nature but she had been waiting to go on the mine cart ride for around 10 minutes. Her boyfriend had gone to get them some drinks so Ariel was left alone in this endless line. She tapped her feet on the ground to the beat of the blaring music. She looked down at her shirt. She read the writing for the 100th time since she got it. 'Smosh, questionable quality humour since 2005.' Ariel sighed. She so wanted to meet Smosh, the only thing she supported more than just Smosh, is Ianthony. She desperately wished they were together. She heard the rattling noise as one of the mine carts clattered out of the tunnel and Ariel's mouth dropped open in shock. There were two people in the cart. They didn't seem to realise that they were out of the mine as they were so lost in eachother, kissing eachother lovingly. The fact that they were men didn't make her mouth drop open, she wasn't homophobic, far from it. She was shocked, stunned and suddenly she couldn't wait to get home and tell all the other Ianthony fans that they were right. Ianthony is real! They were sitting in the cart, oblivious to their surroundings, kissing like the world depended on them. Ian's arm around Anthony's back and Anthony's hand wound through Ian's now messy honey brown bowl. Ariel squealed and a couple people turned around to stare at her. Everyone else was staring at Ian and Anthony.

Ian's lips moved perfectly across Anthony's. Their arms and bodies fitting together like they were made to be slotted together. Anthony heard a girl squeal and he opened his dilated brown eyes. Everyone was staring at them. Ian opened his pale eyes and broke away from Anthony, following his gaze to the gazing crowd and one girl with a Smosh shirt in the crowd, who was jumping and waving at them. Anthony looked at Ian, and Ian looked at Anthony. They burst into laughter. They climbed hastily out of the cart. Ian took Anthony's hand and they ran, just like they did when they were 11. Ian led the way, as he got older he didn't lose his incredible speed. The park where they became friends came into view and Anthony smiled as he was pulled along.

Ian flopped down onto the bench, panting breathlessly. Anthony sat down beside him, very close and nestled his head onto Ian's shoulder. Anthony noted with satisfaction that it fit perfectly.

"I guess you know how I feel now." Ian said queitly after regaining a steady breath.

"And you me, but you can still say it." Anthony raised his head and grinned at the gorgeous man in front of him. Ian turned to Anthony.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Ian wrapped his arms around Anthony and they lay across the park bench. Somehow finding the cold metal comfortable. They lay there in silence for a while, wrapped in eachothers body heat and love. Anthony was thinking, he smiled suddenly.

"Hey Ian, did you know I love Halloween?"

Ian laughed softly and Anthony's heart jumped at the beautiful sound. He snuggled back down into the arms of his boyfriend and gradually drifted into sleep to the beat of Ian's heart.
