1. Character's Name: Scott "Cyclops" Summers
2. Fandom: X-Men (movie canon)
3. Time Frame: Post "Stay away from my girl" scene
4. Age: 33
5. Background: Scott managed to lead a relatively normal life, despite being a mutant. In Scott's universe, there are humans that develop extraordinary abilities because of a "mutant gene". There are mutants who can read minds, control magnetic fields, fly, and, in Scott's case, shoot concussive beams out of his eyes that are only contained by his own eyelids and ruby quartz lenses. Scott couldn't turn the beams off, so he started wearing red sunglasses so he could get by in life.
One fateful day, a teacher at his high school took offense to his wearing shades in her class and demanded he take them off. Upon his refusal, Scott was given detention. It got worse when detention was interrupted by Victor Creed, a mutant working for a man named William Stryker. After a struggle, Victor kidnapped Scott and took him to Stryker's base where he was contained with other mutants. Willaim Stryker was experimenting with mutant powers on other mutants. During his stay, Scott's power was copied and put into "Weapon XI", a mutant with several artificial mutant powers added to his own. Fortunately, James Howlett, another of Stryker's experiments that escaped, chose that time to storm the base and free all the captive mutants. While the young mutants tried to escape, a voice started talking to Scott in his head and gave him directions to get out of the base. The voice led to a helicopter and Professor Charles Xavier. Scott went with Xavier to his school in West Chester, New York.
The school was a safe place for mutants and Professor Xavier was dedicated to helping his students develop and control their powers. Over the years, Scott learned how to control his optic eye blasts with a special visor that allowed him to control the size of the beam. He became a teacher at Xavier's School for Gifted Students and leader of the X-Men, Xavier's team of trained mutants defending humanity against Magneto, a powerful mutant bent on mutant superiority. The latest of Magneto's plots involved sending Sabortooth, a strong and animalistic mutant, to track down and attack Logan and Marie, another pair of mutants. Scott and Storm, a team mate, arrived in time to stop Magneto's henchman and took Logan and Marie back to the school. Xavier was unsure which of them Magneto was after, so he got Marie enrolled in the school and managed to convince Logan to stay as well. Logan took a liking to Jean Grey, the third member of the X-Men, and Scott didn't like that at all since Jean was his girl. He told Logan as much when he saw the other man touching Jean in a more-than-friendly way. Soon after this exchange, Scott turned around and suddenly was in a different castle...
6. Personality: Scott is a friendly and approachable person, especially to other mutants and human allies. He's very protective of the people he's close to (especially his lady Jean) and will do whatever he can to keep them safe. If he decides he doesn't like someone (e.g. Logan), Scott can be a sharp and uncooperative.
As leader of the X-Men, Scott knows how to work with a team and how to handle himself in a crisis. He'll keep a level head and direct those around him when trouble arises. It takes a lot of stress for Scott to lose his cool. Scott doesn't discriminate between mutant and human, only between troublemaker and person who needs help. Charles Xavier brought him up on the belief that humans and mutants are meant to live together, not that one is superior to the other.
When he's not out saving lives, Scott works as a teacher at a school for "special" kids around age 8 and up. He's patient, good-natured, and cooperative (unless confronted by hairy man-children named Logan). His area of expertise is mechanics, and he'd be happy to teach others what he knows.
7. Previous Game Developments: None
8. Appearance:
Scott looks like a normal 6'3'' brown-haired guy. As of being taken to the keep, he's wearing a turtleneck/sweater/cardigan combination. What a dork.
9. Abilities: Scott's primary power is his eyes. They're really pretty and drive the ladies crazy-- okay, no. His eyes constantly project a red concussive blast that is only contained by red quartz lenses or his own eyelids. Scott's visor concentrates the width of the beam smaller, and he can adjust it from about the width of his head to that of a pencil. Without the visor, Scott's optic blast fans out into a cone. The full power blast can destroy a stone wall in canon, but at Holloways, it'll have the power of a heavy punch; it'll probably knock down anyone who isn't considerably heavy-built and will blast through materials that a human fist could break.
10. Languages: English and English
11. Items: He's got his clothes, his red shades, and his visor.
12. Weapons: None beyond his eyeballs.
13. Writing sample - Third Person Prose:
Looking over the lens of his visor and finding it clear and spotless, Scott puts down the cloth he was using to clean it. He hears footsteps on the other side of the door, and he hopes it's Jean coming back and not just a student wandering down the hall... or Logan. Jean assured him that though the other man was actively flirting with her, it was nothing for Scott to worry about. He trusts her, really; it's Logan not being able to take no for an answer that worries him. But Professor Xavier wouldn't let a dangerous man into the school, so Scott tries to put it out of his mind. Looking over to the door, waiting for the footsteps to pass by or carry Jean through the door, the world suddenly jumps--
Alarmed, Scott gets to his feet. Suddenly, he's not in his room at the school anymore. The warm wood-paneled room is now a sparse stone room. He stays still for a moment, listening, waiting to see if the room is going to change again. When nothing moves, Scott replaces his red shades with the visor and pockets the shades. He goes out into the hall, looking around. The medieval stone decor continues. Scott moves down the hall, hand on the dial of his visor, keeping an eye on what's in front of him and behind him.
"Oh great, they got you too."
Scott turns to the voice, ready to fire, then relaxes a little, grimacing when he sees who it is. "Logan. I guess there are worse people to run into. Have you seen anyone else?"
The other man glares right back. "Oh yeah. I found them all but I hid them again. So now it's your turn to find them. Good luck with that, Goggles."
"We don't have time for this," Scott snaps. This isn't right. They don't have any students capable of doing anything like this, and if they did, the Professor would have put an end to it by now. Speaking of the Professor: "Alright... if the Professor was here, he'd have contacted us by now, so he's probably not here..."
The only thing more concerning than being in a strange place with no idea how he got here and knowing the Professor isn't there is being in a strange place with no idea how he got there and not being sure if Jean is there. Jean probably would have contacted Scott if she was here as well, but Scott holds onto the hope that she's just not reaching him. He turns to Logan and figures that, as much as he'd rather not, they'd better stick together.
"We don't know what we're dealing with or how big this place is, so we should stick together and keep looking for others."
Logan smirks. "Need me to hold your hand too?"
Scott storms past Logan and growls "Just keep up." They had better get to the bottom of this, and soon.
14. Writing sample - First Person:
This is Scott Summers. Is anyone from the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters listening? Students, stay where you are. Wait for the Professor or one of the other teachers to contact you. Jean, Ororo, where are you? I'm going to find a central location for us to regroup.
[Okay, shout-out complete. Now, about this note:]
Alright, Deior? How did this happen? What happened? How long is it going to take for our universes to... come back? What can I do to help?
15. Tattoo: Looped around his head, over his eyes
16. Room Preference: Possibly near the other mutants for solidarity and justice.
