Spock's transport back from a winter break spent on Vulcan had arrived on schedule, to his satisfaction. It must be noted that it was decidedly not winter on Vulcan, and considering that winter on Vulcan corresponded to a warm day in the desert on Earth anyway...well, the contrast was remarkable, to say the least, and he was bundled to within an ( Read more... )

Just back from a dinner out, Momoko stood in the doorway and stared happily at Spock. "YOU CAME BACK!"

"Of course I came back," Spock said, slightly offput. "I merely went home for the duration of the winter break to escape this frozen hellscape you call a planet in order to visit with my family and take Vulcan's annual comprehensive exams." Like, duh. "Is it logical to assume all has been well in my absence?"

"Both of my other roommates left before the second semester! I thought it was another curse or something!" Momoko bounced into the room, grinning, and set her take-away dessert on her bed. "And it's totally not logical to assume that, since we live on Fandom Island, but nothing really happened that I noticed. I was gone for a while, though."

HE WAS STILL HERE! SHE HADN'T DRIVEN AWAY ANOTHER ONE!

"Did you pass your exams? How's your mother? Is she well?"

Oh, the bouncing. Spock remembered the bouncing. It was possible it haunted his dreams at night. "My mother is well," he confirmed, "and I performed within acceptable parameters on my examinations," by which he meant perfect scores, because he was Spock.

"Additionally," oh, what was that he was removing from his bag? Was it presents? The wrapping paper was pretty boring, because: Vulcan, but it was totally presents. "I have gifts for you, as I know," from his mother and her insistence that they were going to have a Christmas tree and presents and they were going to like it and she didn't care if the other moms talked, but good luck getting him to admit it, "that Christmas occurred during the break." A pause. "I apologize, I do not know if you celebrate Christmas." She was from Japan, after all...
