I was on the phone with outsourced help a few years ago, when the foreign gentleman on the other end insisted that I couldn't *possibly* have had trouble printing my ticket if I could use my computer to see what *should* have printed.
I don't think it's just McAfee, I remember Youtube features a number of tech support horror stories (here is one the search turns up). AVG would be a good idea, I think.
