Ugh. At least this guy is doing tech support rather than some place where he could do more damage, like being a Mathcamp JC. ;)

I was on the phone with outsourced help a few years ago, when the foreign gentleman on the other end insisted that I couldn't *possibly* have had trouble printing my ticket if I could use my computer to see what *should* have printed.

Tried, no dice. I think I'm just going to uninstall McAfee and replace it with Avast or AVG. Apparently they are both good and free for home users.

I don't think it's just McAfee, I remember Youtube features a number of tech support horror stories (here is one the search turns up). AVG would be a good idea, I think.
