In his speech on Vets Day, President Bush claimed that members of Congress who voted for the 2002 Iraq war resolution “had access to the same intelligence” as his administration. This is patently false.

I was sitting in a movie theatre with a friend of mine yesterday, waiting for Mirrormask to start, and somehow conversation turned to Bush. My friend started talking about how Bush was a good president. Naturally, I assumed he was kidding, so I started talking about how wonderful Nixon was.

Him: "But Nixon...lied..."
Me: "Oh, and Bush didn't. Yeah. Pffft."
Him: "Hey, he was just using the information the CIA gave. He was misled."

But not much was said after that. The subject changed, and we watched the movie. Later, when we left the theatre, I noticed a "W 2004" sticker on his car. Oh. He was serious.

And that's what bugs me. It's one thing if Bush knew the info was false and deliberately misled us. But if he was so easily misled...c'mon, he's the effing president!

January 20, 2009 seems so far away...

Bush's supporters are blind and deaf when it comes to him. they don't want to hear the facts. They are the faithful, the believers... He's like a religion to them. Religion requires blind faith, not critical thinking. In my experience with those people, they will not be moved, no matter what facts you offer.
