My honey-heart comes home today after two months out. He's been gone so long, and I have missed him so much that I have actually reached the point of being numb. I am so very glad that I will see him tonight, but strangely there is a flat calm about it that I have never experienced before. Maturity? I don't know. Definitely not ambivalence.

Maturity-shmurity. It turns out the numbness was just a bit of depression that (without my permission) had set in, which unleashed itself in a surprising amount of tears when he got home. Damn! I thought I had it all under control.

I am not depressed in general. But, I think two months is too long for the heart to miss someone. Aaaakk!
