Job, John Roberts comments, and stuff

I just finished my Job interview for a job in the University Computing center as a tech support guy. It was a pretty good interview. I think I was too timid as usual but I demonstrated what I think was a superior knowledge of common issues with connectivity, spyware, and other computer related stuff. I've got an old copy of Newsweek from when the Senate was considering the nomination of Clarence Thomas. Back then (and this was post-Anita Hill's testimony mind you), there were some hints (or maybe just some futile hope) that he would turn out to be centrist/conservative. What we ended up with, was a rabid radical. Admitedly, Thomas barely squeaked by 52-48, but still...

Conclusion: The confirmation process is a crapshoot.

can you give any examples of Thomas's radicalism? As far as I know he supports an extremely narrow view of the constitution and has been one of the biggest opponents of liberalism.
