Riza petted Black Hayate as she rubbed the back of his head as she waited for Roy to knock her door. As if by routine she had a pot of tea boiling, if not she had bought a bottle of whiskey just in case he didn't care for tea. Roy could already feel the words wanting to tumble from his lips as he knocked on the familiar door outside Riza's apartment. Realizing that she knew he was coming, he tried the door and found it open. He walked inside and left his coat on the hook behind the door before meeting her gaze.

It had been a week since he'd last seen her and already it felt like forever. He heaved a sigh, realizing that Wrath had no idea what toll splitting up his unit had taken out of him.

She frowned at the state that Roy was in. The worn expression on his face unsettling her as she motioned towards the living room couch.

"Would you like some tea?" She asked calmly as the kettle started to whistle. Riza always kept a special blend of tea for situations like. The routine had started when she returned from Ishval and the plaguing nightmares of shell shock and screams used to keep up her up at night.

Roy seated himself on the couch, rolling up the sleeves to the white blouse he wore under his uniform. He slumped back into the seat, nodding at her offer.

"Unless you have something stronger." He added a little too hopefully, mind mulling over the past few days' events. He'd been harsh with Edward, but he was hurt. It was hard to be delicate when Ed was lashing out like that.

The only thing to do was wait for his memory to return, and the thought was... rather unsettling. He felt guilty for sending the boy up to Briggs with the mind of his 12-year-old self, especially so spontaneously, but, he felt like he had no better option.

Riza poured the hot tea into the cup before turning to give it to him. "At least try the tea Sir."

She had to know what was going on, it was almost breaking her heart that he was acting like this? Resisting the urge to move next to him and hug him, she decided to sit opposite him and wait until he wanted to tell her what was going on.
