Someday you're going to have to write your memoirs, and the title of this post should be the title of the book. I bet you'd sell copies on the title alone.

I continued to giggle throughout the day whilst thinking about how the cover could be laid out, etc...

I giggled about it before I fell asleep.

Thanks for a day sprinkled with giggles.

Ohhhh.... I'm so happy to hear this! I can tell you that the new ones are a world of difference. I got mine in '98 and things sound like they with my residual hearing up to then but with more clarity. I hope it works out Gretchen!

We shall see. Not having had any residual hearing (and, thus, no "normal" sound for 29 years now), it's difficult to determine whether the improvement in sound will, in fact, be an improvement for me... or present more of a situation where I have to re-learn how to hear.

I may be hitting you up for tips!

I always wondered what that bump was. I thought it was just another pager; put in that area and set on "vibrate" for more fun...

Good to here you finally took some action on this.

Nice to see you Saturday. Hope to see you more often...

That was a wonderful story, eloquently told, and I was captivated while reading it. I learned new things about you, things that added to my appreciation of the total package that is you.

I'm so glad you will be able to get a BTE-style CI! It doesn't require additional surgery, does it? Just a new processor? I'm sure you will love the new freedom, and I'm excited for you.

Nope, no additional surgery... at this point, I'd probably go through with it even if it DID require the surgery, simply because I've once again become dependent on the sound in order to communicate with hearing people.

I found out later in the day that I'll not only be able to take a step up to a BTE processor... but I can take an ADDITIONAL step up to the 3G processor, which is way more advanced. This, of course, set off an additional round of excitement and terror :P
