Ugh. Monkey Khan. Yes. You're lovely. White comic artists finally managed to draw on 'Journey to the West' without fucking it all up. Now, please, leave the comic. Monkeys are awful and creepy. Also that Khan x Sally thing...;-; so not okay. Does anyone even ship that? I feel like he's only in the picture so the editors at Archie can slap him with ( Read more... )

I think the only reason the writers put Sally and Khan together is because Khan is similar to Knuckles in some ways (hot headed loner with mystical tribal connections etc) and readers pitched a fit when they tried to pair Knuckles and Sally back in the day. So they decided to go for a similar dynamic but without using Knux.

I never liked Mina. Mary Sue is right.

But aye, Sally's characterisation throughout the history of the comic is so erratic it's enough to make a person sea-sick @_@

Ah, the love-hate relationship, I know it well. Some things are SO BEAUTIFULLY RIGHT and some things are just SO HORRIBLY WRONG. Arrrgggghhhh.

I like the original idea behind Mina. She's a regular person thrown into a world at war, has lost everyone she's ever cared about, and she has to struggle to deal with it. It would have been cool to see how someone who can't become a Freedom Fighter deals with a war her side has only the slimmest chance of winning.

But then...ooh! She's a Freedom Fighter! Ooh! She has super speed! Ooh! She's a pop star! Ooh! She's Sonic's girlfriend! Ooh! She's totally perfect in every plausible regard!
