I have a new pet (and friend)! Her name is Scooter and she is a Pink Rose tarantula. I like her a lot and it makes me really sad that I had to adopt her, but some people are cruel and need to take out thier problems on animals. Here's what happened ( Read more... )

anyone that asked you " why you think it's okay to feed live animals to other animals when you're a veg"
you should stop being their friends right away, because they are obviously missing brain cells.

Yo, speaking of coffee, I saw Abi's stuff at Gleaners, and it is FANTSTIC. I love the one of you two ("I took so much") and the big one that says 'Hunger', he's so talented.

But definitely, let's get coffee, and I won't invite any of the jerks that asked me that question.

please post more about Scooter, because i enjoyed this post enormously. I MEAN IT LADY! are you actually going to feed her mice? THAT IS SO FUCKING AWESOME. I WANT TO WATCH. SERIOUSLY.

also, yay for new beef. i met him at new year's. he is hot. go lydia.

too bad about that squid, though...maybe he'll score you another one. in north carolina you can buy dead baby sharks preserved in formaldehyde and food coloring. you pick the color. it's really awful.

No way am I feeding Scooter mice - maybe in the wild they eat them, but I don't think I could handle the gore...and ten crickets cost a dollar while one mouse costs $1.50, so there ya go.

It sucks, though, I watched the crickets and Scooter for like, an hour last night, hoping to see them get trapped in the webbing at least, but I looked away for a little bit and then couldn't find any of them. Now I hafta wait another two weeks! Sucks! I'll definitely post more about her though, she's the most exciting thing in the apartment!

And that baby shark thing is pretty disgusting. Like, thinking about it is making me want to hurl a little.

Oh yeah, the one on the right is rearing - which is just what Scooter did when I was trying to move her into her new luxorious cage by goading her onto a spatula...Handling these things is totally nerve-wracking, check out those fangs!

im afraid that you're going to accidently lose it in the clutter of your room and then a home alone type situation will happen.

i am intrigued though.... one time at alix's house she let me feed the snake (her little bros) because they were on vacation and i got to drop the mouse in the cage!!! it was so exciting!
