I have a long and complicated story, but I bet many of you do as well. To sum it up briefly, my boyfriend and I have been together for just over eight years, through health crises and other issues, and while we love each other very much--I will never leave him--I am extremely dissatisfied sexually. He has told me in the past that he would ( Read more... )

I'd suggest that you not 'tell' anyone anything. Just keep it to yourself. Why do you need to tell on yourself?

In MY experience, even though I had 'permission' (which is BULLSHIT in my opinion because it makes it sound like you're owned)... the other relationship was used against me even though it was 'agreed' that there were 'no strings attached'.

Thanks for the response. I suppose what I meant by the "tell" comment is that if I told the other man that my boyfriend said it was okay for me to be with someone else, he wouldn't be so concerned that we had to worry about him finding out. And so that I don't lose my boyfriend's trust, I would want to let him know in advance what was going on, as he has asked for.

I understand what you mean about the permission comment, but it meant a lot to me that he would be so graceful about it. I don't feel owned at all. However, I do have some small concerns about what you said--the relationship being used against me--since he was jealous in the past.

My friend, you're right. Forgive the tone of my earlier response, I'd JUST woken up. :)

The only additional comment I'd like to add is that if he was jealous in the past, you can almost GUARANTEE that li'l green-eyed monster WILL make a re-appearance... when you LEAST expect it.

Have fun... just don't get hurt. :)

Hugs to ya,
Harley

Maybe you had best do it quietly for awhile. You may not need to ever let him know.
