[After dealing with the initial discomfort mentally at having that kidnapping effect wear off and his anger at the Malnosso for even doing that to him for so long, Leonhardt comes to a few interesting conclusions from all that.

The most evident was that Joshua now has his memories back. And he had said nothing about it at all. They definitely need to have a talk and Joshua also deserves to know he's back to normal and he should probably thank Joshua for his patience in dealing with such a truly annoying effect and just how much that had to have hurt.

So at some point towards dinnertime, Joshua will hear a knock on the door.]

[It'll take a little bit, but it won't be that long before Joshua opens the door. When he does, Leonhardt will find himself greeted with a smile - albeit one that seems a bit more forced than usual.]

...Hey, Loewe. [He probably still feels a bit awkward about speaking to him after what happened the other day. That would explain why his smile's a bit off today, at least...]

[Joshua may notice that Leonhardt is not smiling. But he will just get to the point.]

And I see you have your memories back, Joshua.

I should also apologize for my behavior during the experiment and while under the effect of the kidnapping.

[...He's back to normal. And it looks like he noticed... that doesn't necessarily bode well.]

It's fine. [Joshua still feels pretty awkward about the experiment, but the rest was never a problem in the first place - and to be fair, Leonhardt wasn't the only one whose behavior differed because of the experiment.

...No, he's not responding to that comment about his memories just yet. That can wait a moment.]

[No, but Joshua's saving grace may well have been some of the things he said during that time.]

And what about not telling me about your memories being back?

[Of course, in some ways he's a bit upset because he is thinking Joshua prefers him as he was before and what he said while under that effect was just a white lie to not cause more problems.]

... [It figures that he'd keep pressing about that. Drat. Well, no point in lying... not outright, at least.]

...I didn't exactly have the chance to tell you, Loewe. [Partial truth there. There was definitely a small time frame when he could have mentioned it - the week immediately after regaining his memories - but it really shouldn't be too surprising that he didn't want to say anything then, considering he was still sorting things out and all.

And after that, Leonhardt was kidnapped... and then he came back acting like he did ten years ago. He can't exactly bring this sort of thing up under those circumstances, can he?]

[That wasn't exactly a small timeframe. About 6 days, definitely more than enough especially with them being so close in location.]

I find that a bit hard to believe. I merely wished to know I no longer have to hide that I have known you for so long.

[Enough time under normal circumstances, maybe. It takes a while to adjust to remembering so much again, and the fact that they're still on kind of... strange terms really didn't help with that.]

You didn't have to hide it in the first place. [Mentioning it earlier might have helped him recall things a little more quickly. And if he was keeping quiet about that because of orders from someone... well, they're the only ones from their world here right now. As long as that doesn't change, it's not as if he would have gotten into trouble for bringing that up. Right? And even if someone did show up, with one exception, it shouldn't have been too hard for them to simply keep quiet about Leonhardt mentioning that to Joshua.]

...But you're probably right. I should have said something sooner. [It's just... it's not all that easy to bring that sort of thing up when you just remembered so much, especially when it's looking extremely likely that Leonhardt's still with the society... even if he kind of wants to hope that he's wrong about that ( ... )

[Yeah, unfortunately, Joshua, he is indeed still with Ouroboros.]

I have to follow orders. I could say nothing that could risk you learning of us again until you recovered your memories. I could only do so much.

[But he did help arrange it so Joshua could get them back, at least he was able to do that much since he can always blame it on them acting of their own choice.]

[Learning of us, huh. It's not hard to figure out who he's referring to with that.

... ]

...Did the professor give you that order? [His voice is flat as he speaks - not quite emotionless, but close. There's something that doesn't quite fit with what he can recall, and it's something that's been bothering him, but his tone does a fairly good job at masking that fact.]

It most definitely wasn't Colonel Richard. [Which basically means yes, it was one of Weissmann's orders.

And really it's becoming more and more evident that Joshua no longer trusts him and those things he said a few weeks back were then likely lies since it is rather hard to like someone you cannot even trust to be near you.]

I merely wanted you to know I was back to my normal self and that there is no more need for lying to me. I did not mean to bother you.

[So in other words, he guessed right. That's... actually pretty concerning, considering it's another piece of information that seems contradictory to something else. It really feels as if he's still missing something important.

But first things first.]

You're not bothering me. [If he was, he'd already have ended the conversation by now, more likely than not.

... ]

...Do you want to come in for a while? [There's actually something he kind of wants to ask about, but it's not something he wants to bring up somewhere where others might end up overhearing. Sure, it likely wouldn't matter much to someone not from their world, but... still.]

[He would like to talk, but with how Joshua didn't seem all that receptive before now.]

I'd like that. I cannot promise I can answer all your questions though.

That's fine. [If he's still following orders... it's to be expected that there are things he won't be able to answer, even if it would be preferable if that wasn't the case.

Without another word, he'll open the door a little further, stepping out of the way so that Leonhardt can enter the apartment. They can properly continue their conversation once that's done with.]

[And Leonhardt will go ahead and enter. He's not going to sit down or anything unless Joshua says he can.]

If you were curious, Renne was doing well last I saw her. She misses you, of course. [And him too, since he was away on some more lengthy missions and couldn't see her.]

I'm glad to hear that. [He really is. Although that probably means she's still with the society, which isn't necessarily a good thing, all things considered.

... ]

You can sit down, if you want. [There's really no need for him to keep standing while they're here.]
