Some of these questions are spoiler-iffic. Mainly the "sad scene" one. I'll try to be as brief, or as "there be spoilers here" as possible, in case anyone cares. (I really don't know. o_o)
I tried to bold any part I felt would be a major spoiler thing, so hopefully I don't get stuff thrown at me. xD
Day 7, Game with the Best Soundtrack
Xenosaga Spoilers follow;
I wanted to give this to Final Fantasy VIII, but then I remembered Xenosaga: Episode III. It's pretty much the Battlestar Galactica of video games, as in crazy sci-fi story mixed with different facets of religion mixed with awesome music mixed with some characters that were never really alive in the first place. Anyways, III is where all the shit hits the fan, so to speak (ahaha) so I think it's got the most intense music.
I know that
Hepatica will always be a favorite, and makes me want to play the game, like, just hearing it. It plays during a battle with T-ELOS who is an off-shoot of KOS-MOS and a sort of part of her that she's missing. <-- Ahem, see. That's a spoiler, there. Either way, I love the music. This has to be the most calming battle music ever. So, yeah. I like how they randomly integrated this song into the battle, and there's tons of other pretty musical scores throughout the game, just play and you'll pretty much know what I'm talking about. Now I'm sitting here wondering WHY I don't have the OST. X__X
Day 7, Favorite Game Couple: In reality, you'll get quite a few because I'm pretty awful at picking at random. I tried to focus on the absolute favorites though, although there's plenty of others that I enjoy, these are my personal best;
Squall & Rinoa - Final Fantasy VIII - The most epic couple of all time, imho. Their relationship transcends space and time, and they basically got a game dedicated to them both. He's her knight, and I think regardless of how the story turned, he would have stayed by her, even if she strayed into the wrong side (aka been evil). So, gotta love the whole "your world has been shaken upside down but hey, we managed to stay together!" thing. The promise is just. aslfkjd;aljfd. ♥
Squall: Who cares if she's a sorceress? Rinoa is Rinoa, right?
Rinoa: Squall...
Haseo & Atoli - .hack//G.U. - This makes .hack look silly, but this is actually only a special feature you can obtain at the end of the last game, and it's really only a five minute scene, there are no crazy weddings throughout the game, it's actually quite srsbusiness. xD They're pretty much like the two above - they but horns for a majority of the game, although she's much more sensitive about it, but she keeps trying. He's into someone else who is in a coma, so he's got to work through those complex feelings before realizing his feelings for her (and it takes her getting hurt like 3498394 times for him to realize it) but when he does, it's epic! Also, this wedding thing...well, you can actually marry any girl you please, as long as her emotions for you are maxed out, but Haseo & Atoli are canon. She is the one he gets with at the end of the game. Despite lots of other awesome females in the game, I can nevar evar marry anyone else. Oh, Atoli. ♥
Atoli: (Is being manipulated by someone awful) E..veryone...hurts...m...e. No one would praise me. No one would accept me. No one would...look....at...me...Haseo won't...look...
Haseo: Atoli! Wait for me, okay? I promise, I'll save you!
Atoli: Ha...se...o...he...lp....
Solid Snake & Meryl Silverburgh - Metal Gear Solid - Sadly, this is mostly when their story is told. Still, I adored it as a young girl. I haven't played in a long time, but I remember the voice acting being absolutely amazing. Their relationship is so...tragic and beautiful. Sigh. I can't get too deep into it without being really sad about how it all ended, though. Bah. So, here's a funny quote:
Meryl: So, there's something you like?
Snake: Yeah, you've got a great butt!
Meryl: Oh, I see! First it's my eyes, now it's my butt! What's next?
Snake: On the battlefield, you never think about what's next.
Also, randomly, probably my favorite Meryl line that has always stuck with me;
Meryl: I was a fool. I wanted to be a soldier, but...war is ugly. There's nothing glamorous about it.
Zack Fair and Aerith Gainsborough - Final Fantasy: Crisis Core
These two are just...cute. There's not enough words in the dictionary to describe how quickly they both managed to capture my heart together. I had actually always found Aerith/Cloud to be interesting, simply because I couldn't remember Zack all that well. Playing this game has given me a totally different insight, and I'm not sure where in the world I even got Aerith/Cloud from in the first place, because I think her and Zack were like, destined. Especially given...well...that they both...you know. I'm still playing the game, so I'm going to dance around this topic a little, because it's depressing...
Zack: So, what do you think? *Is showing off new hair-cut*
Aerith: Hmm. It's definitely different.
Zack: Yeah? Like it? *pose*
Aerith: Well it's nice...
Zack: *happy*
Aerith: ...although I'm not sure if I can get used to it.
*Zack facepalms while Aerith giggles*
Day 8: Saddest Moment ohboy; getting ready for water-works. I also know that there's a bit in Crisis Core that's going to be put here - but given that I haven't finished that part (or seen that part) of the game yet, I'm going to just ignore that bit for now.
Sad to me is basically either something that has me
a) crying my eyes out
b) bittersweet feeling
Yuna & Tidus say goodbye in FFX. We all had suspicions about Tidus up to this point, even Yuna. Tidus himself seemed to know, which made it all the more heartbreaking. Yeah, this makes me cry. I loved Auron, but he was more resigned to his death than Tidus seemed to be. Tidus was leaving his girl behind. When Yuna says "I love you" and then runs to hug him and she just...runs through him. Man. I lose it. >> To be honest, this would be one of the saddest moments ever if she didn't get him back in that spin-off. That makes it...less sad. xD
Aerith's theme song plays as she dies, and Cloud & Company put her to rest. Ah, yeah. This one has me blubbering before the scene even happens. Once she leaves my party, I always feel all "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" inside. So, I just have this awful feeling that leads into the scene, and then I'm just left with my tears. Especially when they lay her to rest. ohman.
Without going into major detail, Zack loses someone important to him, and he really grows for the first point in the game. He sobs loudly about it to Aerith, who hugs him from behind in comfort. It's assumed that their relationship is officially "serious" by this point, and I can see why. It's been the most heart-breaking scene (for me) so far. I didn't cry, but my heart was really tugged. I hate to hear Zack cry, and the backwards comfort!hug was just...man, Aerith.
SERIOUS SERIOUS SERIOUS Spoilers for Persona 3 Portable follow;
Go figure. I like the saddest relationship in the game. Basically Shinjiro & Jade (you get to name her, so that's who she is to me) have one month of clarity together, but then Shinjiro is shot after they spend a night together. He's in a coma for the rest of the game, until the end of the game, after you've used your life force to save to save the world. Jade doesn't know it, but she's slowly fulfilling her life's purpose and is dying. If you choose to be with Shinjiro, you get a scene with him on New Game+ that is just...heart-wrenching. He comes out of his coma only to find his love drifting away. Sadness. It's...inevitable. She harbored death; she stopped death; she will die. It's so...sad.
ENDING SPOILERS for Xenosaga III FOLLOW!
Shion Uzuki is escaping from the final battle when her brother is fatally stabbed. While she doesn't see it, the screen pans to her face as she sobs, "Jin!" because she realizes...she knows...that he's gone. He slowly fades, happily, as he remembers all of the things that have happened on his journey, the best of which, growing closer to his sister. It...really makes me sad. I first saw it with my brother, ironically, so I just...I mean, I'd be really devastated if something happened to him, so this scene does tend to...choke me up.
Squall begs Rinoa to open her eyes after she's gone into a coma from being transferred her sorceress powers. It's the most "please please" we've seen Squall the entire game, so that makes me all D; and well, I adore Rinoa. So, she's out of it for awhile, and that always saddens me. At this point, they really have no idea why she suddenly collapsed after the battle, so I'm sure everyone's pretty "omg, wtf?" Yeah. I just. Poor Rinoa. D;
MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS for the second installment of the .hack trilogy to follow;
Alkaid is attempting to find out what happened to her friend, like Haseo's friend, who has been "player killed" and put into a coma in real life as a result (they're all playing an online game) and well...she's lured into a trap, just when their relationship is getting the closest. After Atoli, she's definitely one of the best female characters, so this was just...god. You don't get her back until the VERY END of the third game for the final battle, but she's super under-leveled because they want to be realistic like "well she couldn't level! she was in a coma!" >> Dammit.
As she fades away with tears in her eyes, I die a little inside. Bah. It's one of those "I don't cry, but god do I really hate getting to this part" moments. Especially since you're working with her up until that point, so you're leveling/spending a LOT of time with her, and you have to then put effort into a different person. (Kind of like how things with Aerith went down in VII)
O-oh my! I'm finished. I had a lot of fun doing those, though. My head is kind of stuck in game-land right now. ;D
