Oh dear, Seph's not going to be happy about being passed over, especially when he has the same qualities as Loz (respect, care, etc)... on the other hand, who says that Jenova needs only one babysitter? Seph will be babysitter #2. ^_^

Oh, and I nearly forgot:

There were little things that amused her in a childish way, like the thought that Sephiroth was her favourite child. When had she ever said that? No, no, never had she put words to their relationship and her level of liking of him

She actually said to the General that Sephiroth was her favourite son. It was in that conversation they had under the stars, and Sephiroth was able to hear that. Not to mention all the times that she's called him her dearest, most important, and generally beloved son.
