I personally would go for communications. I know that I wouldn't be very good in technology, but beyond that, communication skills are the number one thing that employers look for in potential employees. Plus, technology studies eventually become obsolete, but communication follows consistent, necessary principles.

I agree. For you, if I had to pick between the two, I'd say communications.

Out of curiosity, why do you want a minor? I know that it increases your credentials, of course, but why were you thinking of technology?

Minors are interesting. If executed well the compiment the major and make it look better. However, a lot of times they are completely pointless, jsut the student stating to the world that they enjoy doing something different from their major (and there are much better ways of proving it).

Technology seems to be "the way of the future". In a world where everything is becoming automated it doesn't seem like a bad choice. However, what does technology really mean to a music ed major? Isn't the heart of the matter centered in non-technological areas?

Communications is also interesting. It looks good to employers, but then again, almost everyone has communications skills on their resume. It's not necessarily the minor that sells you, it's the experience that backs it up. The same goes for the major.
