Silver was hardly impressed when he learned of the reason Red had sent for him. It wasn’t often Red actually made the effort to invite him, since it appeared that Silver had to trek Mt. Silver-he always scoffed at the name-himself without warning, otherwise the visits would be few and far in between. This time, however, he had had the slight hope that Red wanted to have some sort of “special” time with him. Sitting around a fire doing nothing became boring and pointless pretty fast.
Once he arrived to the cave, Sneasel by his side, he noticed immediately what was strange: a Ledyba was buzzing around the cave, followed closely by Pikachu. Silver growled and stomped closer. “Why the hell do you have that thing here? They only live in the trees in Johto.”
Red stared at him, and then shrugged his shoulders.
Oh, that was right. Damn guy didn’t talk much. How could he forget. “Did a challenger leave it here after they challenged you?”
“…Yes.”
Silver scoffed and ventured further into the cave, reaching up to give the Ledyba a pat on the head as it buzzed closer to him while Sneasel and Pikachu greeted each other at his feet. “Stupid. You don’t just leave your Pokémon behind. What kind of trainer were they?” he commented with a snarl.
He knelt down to ruffle Pikachu’s fur, and Red simply smiled, settling against the cave wall. Silent as he was, sometimes his movements could be noisy. Or maybe it was just the echo of the cave making the gentle shifting louder than it actually was. Silver sighed, straightened up, and approached Red.
“So you want me to take this thing to the closest Pokémon Center in case its trainer decides they care about it and go looking for it?”
Red nodded, hands folded across his stomach.
“…Tch. Fine.”
Silver stared at Red expectantly, to which Red stared blankly in return. Another sigh and the redhead turned on his heel, offering a wave. “See you, then.”
He had summoned the Ledyba into an empty Poké Ball and beckoned Sneasel to follow when he felt a tug at his sleeve. When he turned to add a comment, his lips were met with the cold, chapped ones he so rarely had the privilege of experiencing. Well, he could do without the dry, rough texture, but there wasn’t much he could do about it. Kisses were just as rare as Red’s spoken words, after all.
But that was all it was, a kiss to remind Silver that yes, Red did care about him. Not that Silver questioned it that often…once Red parted, Silver turned back quickly to hide his red face. “I’m not doing this for you, I’m doing it for the Ledyba.” he huffed and began his trek down Mt. Silver.
