It's actually even more complicated than that...

Not only does the earth orbit the sun, they both orbit the center of the galaxy. And that's receding from the origin point of the universe.

Lots and lots of motion to be accounted for...

The earth turns.
The earth and moon go around. I think the center point in side the earth, but still it will mess you up if you come out at the wrong height.
The earth go's around the sun.
The sun go's around the galaxy.
The galaxy dos move around the local galaxies.
But since there is no center or edge of the universe, we do not "receding from the origin point of the universe."
