Vestrlönd (n. pl.), literally "west-lands" refer in period to those places in Western Europe such as the British Isles, Normandy, Bretagne, etc.

What would "Northshield" be?

Norðskjöldr Literally North-shield.

And the reference to the people of Northshield would probably be Skjöldungar (sing. Skjöldungr) "Shielders" [though in period this word would be used to reference 'Danes' after their mythic founder Skjöldr '(lit.) shield', the Anglo-Saxon equivalent being Scyldingas to founder Scyld Scelding. But Owen has said there's a Bardic tradition of using Scyldingas to reference Northshielders, so I think I could use the Norse version with no problem. ;-) ]
