I love your thoughts about the "white light into a dark place" being comparable to the Phial in Shelob's Lair and also comparing it to the description to the FLight to the FOrd...
very interesting comparison.

It sort of just jumped out at me. That's one thing I like about doing this, no matter how long it takes: I never know what new thing I will become aware of in the text.
