Eggnog

For those of you who requested it, here's my eggnog recipe:

3 eggs
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup spiced rum (I only use Appleton Estate)
1/2 cup brandy
2 cups milk
2 cups ice cream
1 tsp cinnamon (or to your taste; I like a fair bit)
fresh nutmeg to garnish

  • beat the eggs with the sugar for a few minutes until light and frothy
  • add the alcohol and whip ( Read more... )

Woo, thanks! If I use a "substitute" (though don't know if I can even get "eggnog syrup" here O.o) - is it the same amount - 1/2c, as the rum would be?? Somehow I am doubting it on the syrup? (I don't normally drink alcoholic egg nog lol )

Thanks for the recipe!!! Got your VERY cool/funky card btw! We like it very much!!! We are still working on ours, hopefully they will go out by Thursday LOL

I would definitely use less of the syrup. It's very sweet. I think you could get it there if you've got a Starbucks, because I know the UK SB still has the eggnog latte at this time of the year. Just add the syrup to taste....I'd think a couple of tablespoons would do it, but I'm not sure.

Glad you got the card! Oddly, they reminded me of you when I picked them up.
