anOTP: Lucivar/Ada Clare

Lucivar is inside, for once, sitting by the fire, eyes half closed and looking almost asleep, very tired indeed. However, he is awake enough that if someone were to walk into the room, he'd notice - having been caught napping once by Armand, he's determined not to get caught again by people more likely to tease him about it

Ada would never tease someone she does not know well (and even then, it is unlikely), so when she enters and sees Lucivar apparently asleep, her first instinct is to start to back out of the room once more, very quietly.

However, he hears her and his head swivels around, and when he sees a landen lady he offers her a smile, trying to stay relaxed despite his discomfort around most landens, due to their fear of him. "Hello, Lady."

"Hello," she says, starting to see him so suddenly wakened, then dipping into a shallow curtsey. "Please forgive me. I had hoped not to wake you."

He stands and bows back, automatically. "I wasn't really asleep. Just dozing," he says carefully, keeping his voice even. It's not that hard, in his good mood, though. "No forgiveness necessary."
