Alright - so I was challenged by
allnerdreview to write a haiku using the word 'obliterate'...
I said that I'd have ten or more... Some of them are a little repetitive, but that has a bit to do with the nature of the word... Okay -
Out of options I
ask my Magic Eight Ball who
to obliterate.
I can't stand here and
watch you obliterate the
town I hold so dear.
Oh ye of frail mind
and no dignity, I will
obliterate you.
I obliterate
the myth that I am sour
by saying hi first.
When stagnation hits
why not obliterate the
mind and start anew?
The daylight changes
when I obliterate what
I thought I knew well.
Curious young boy
I watch you obliterate
the ant hill with ease.
You think I don't see
the way you obliterate
our world with no thought.
I wonder if I
could obliterate life with
such callousness too.
Were you there to see
her obliterate her knee
running up the hill?
With a flash and a
bang you obliterate all
I have ever known.
I obliterate
your image from my mind and
start my second heart.
Quietly I wait
to obliterate you all
unexpectedly.
The deer and rabbits
have tried to obliterate
my precious garden.
I can't believe I
just saw you obliterate
the Rice Krispie Treats.
The moon rises to
obliterate the day and
meet the stars to play.
Okay - that's it for now... I've had fun. I used to write a lot of haiku. Maybe I'll dig some out for you or post some new ones sometime. Feel free to share yours too!
