I saw this from Adam and Meg, and thought to myself, "Self, you should do this. You did an end of the year review last year." I then went to look back at it, and realized that was two years ago. I sure never update my journal anymore. Oh well.
1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Drove across the country/spend 7 consecutive days with my father for the first time in five years.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
This is the question that made me look back for the old year-end entry, but since I didn't make one, I have no idea if I had a resolution. This year's will be to finally finish college.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Julia Roberts, my BFF.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, although my family members had some close friends die, all within the same week.
5. What countries did you visit?
The scary part of the US (ie: Tennessee, etc)
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Free time, a roach-free home, and no more passive aggressive boys.
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
When I visited Michele in the hospital, when my dad told me he was moving, when my dad told me he was moving back to NJ, and when my mom and I sailed around San Francisco.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making Mike laugh one night this summer while he was on the phone with Terri.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not sweeping Jesse in fantasy, not using my pasta maker enough, and not finishing all the alcohol in our apartment before moving out.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major. I get sick all the time.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My mom's new dishwasher.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My mom (as always), Suneetha (because she's all fun and it's isn't fair that she isn't 21), Michele (because she is too amazing for words) and Elaine and Alex (because they never cease to make me smile).
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
A person who I wouldn't think would.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, large purchases (generally for others) and alcohol.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to San Francisco, Mark coming back from England, future livings with Michele.
17. What song will always remind you of 2004?
In no specific order: The Milkshake Song (which may have come out last year. I don't remember.), Pieces of Me (because my mom loves Ashlee Simpson), Yeah (because I didn't go out all year withouth hearing it, and because of when Chris was obsessed with it and would sing it all the time), My Goodies (because it's just so darn sleazy). I think I could go on and on with this question, but I'll stop.
18. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Probably a little sadder, but more hopeful.
ii. thinner or fatter?
Fatter, but I'm working on that.
iii. richer or poorer?
Richer, because I've been working most of this year, as opposed to 2003.
19. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Service, relaxing, hanging out with certain friends.
20. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Arguing with Mark, hearing about pigs, worrying.
21. How will you be spending Christmas?
At my house with my family.
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
No, and the prospects seem to be rather slim right now. Flames, shooting out of my head.
23. Are you still in love now?
Blargh.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I'm sure there must be some people, but I'm drawing a blank.
25. What did you want and did get?
To win. Again.
26. What did you want and not get?
Flames. Shooting out of my head.
27. What was your favorite film of this year?
I know what Mark, Michele and Jesse will tell me. It isn't that one, since I never really saw it. I really don't recall seeing anything amazing, although I watched Mystic River for the first time this year, and that was a really amazing movie.
28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned an undisclosed age. The weekend of my birthday, I party hopped and dressed up at She-Ra.
29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less stress.
30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
I started dressing more my age because of my jobs. New work clothes would be the "Donna Clothes Trend of 2004." Each year there seems to be one new type of clothing I get a lot of.
31. What kept you sane?
Weekends in Maryland. Bitching with Michele and Suneetha. Laughing with Jesse.
32. What political issue stirred you the most?
Too many.
33. Who did you miss?
My friends, my dad while he was gone, Mark while he was in England.
34.Who was the best new person you met?
Arti. She's the sweetest (yet not) girl ever, and is so much fun. I'm really going to miss her this spring.
35. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Be thankful for what you have (although I've already known that, but I was reminded a lot this year). I think there may be some more that are amusing, but they need not be mentioned.
36. Did you get a new job in 2004?
Two of them, One at Riggs, and one at BP Associates, a flooring contractor. Both ever so exciting.
