So I've decided, I really do not want to go back to school in January. I keep telling people that I am/I'm applying but in my heart I really don't want to. The only reason why I'm applying at all is to make my family happy and get a master's degree (I would be the first grandchild to get my masters and neither of my parents have one so it is a big ( Read more... )

A master's degree can wait, travel opportunities...it's best to do them now. Other opportunities can open up because of it. Many of my colleagues when I went to library school were in fact a little older and I even waited a few years to save up.

I also had to get over the concept of owing money and come to terms with it, the way I figure...I've got lots of time to pay it off and can chip at it when I can.

Well I've decided I'm going :) I'm going to get my TESOL and go in August. Talking with my parents went a lot better than I thought it was going to go. I have the feeling that they kinda figured something like this was going to happen as I've been delaying so much on getting my application done.

Grandma is going to be a tougher sell, but she's not in the best place right now, but I'm at the point were if I don't go now I never will go. So I'm going to live and enjoy myself!

This is massively random but I read your info and it sounds pretty much like me with the exception that I am twenty-seven. And yet, I'm only 18 in my head lol. Add me?
