I'm being serious. Your work is amazing and there are so many things I don't understand yet (I'm sure you can tell by looking at MY photographs). You're really good. How much do you charge an hour to teach ? ;)

Great shot... I imagine those signs were putting off a great deal of light, but it still is impressive that it was hand held.

Yah...the trip to France last fall was a real eye-opener. Until then, I'd never really put IS through its paces. I've played around with it since then in Chicago and just about every third photo in Japan was a motion blur shot. I really love the flexibility of being able to handhold down to a half second and still get a sharp frame. I have a shot at the same location as above, ISO 800, shutter speed 1/2 second. The billboards are sharp (except for the minitron...), but the people are more blurred than I wanted. I have a Ginza photo coming up with motion blur in front of the Kabuki-za theatre during the blazing light of day...it isn't really all that good, but it was a fun shot nonetheless. So...I kinda went overboard on blur this trip...

At any rate, I don't travel with a tripod (not until they make a rock solid tripod that weighs a pound, extends to 5.5 feet, but collapses to six inches), but I know this shot would have been better with one.
