It's only noon and I'm already ready for a nap! ;)

We went to our friend Sam's b-day party last night. It was fun. I usually sit on photos a few days before I work on them, but I had to take an early peek at some of the one's from last night.

I like the few photo's I've seen so far I can tell you have an eye for photography. I grew up around it, my dad is a photographer.

Thanks. I'm not quite the skilled photographer I want to be, but I'm definitely having a blast as I learn...

What sort of photographer was your dad?

My dad started out as a teenager taking pictures for his hometown newspaper the Sentinel in Centralia Illinois. He continued taking photos while in the air force while stationed in England (where he met my mom) the Philippines and Taiwan. When he got out of the air force he moved to St.Louis where started working for Fuji he later opened his own camera store which failed in the early eighties economy. My dad continued to take wedding pictures and portraits. He eventually got a job as the lead janitor at Townsend elementary. He is now happily retired and continues to take pictures with his Olympus digital camera. By the way do you know an old acquaintance of mine in Chicago Doug Birkenhuer the photographer. I think thats how he spell his last name.
