The FURminator...

My cat groomer of the last four years is being a complete ass these days (taking forever to return calls), so I've decided to switch to a new salon, Soggy Paws.  They apparently have a good rep (Josh...I'm slowly caving ;) and were even awarded "Best Groomer" in 2006 by Chicagoland Tails (um...for whatever that's worth, lol.)   Overall, the place ( Read more... )

They look like they are completely driven by a dog clientele. How is Theo going to handle all of that?

Believe it or not, Theo's surprisingly chill around dogs and other animals. I guess he's generally chill all around, though, which is one of the reasons I love him so. :) Anyway, the guy who used to groom Theo would usually place Theo's cat carrier on this huge table next to his pet dog, a really gorgeous rottweiler (and I tend to think rottweiler's are kinda homely.) The first time he did it, I thought he was insane...I was pissed. Then, like two seconds later, Theo and the dog started vocalizing with each other and I realized everything was OK. Long, boring cat story short, Theo seems to play well with others...

Yah, same here. I've tried other deshedding tools (added two to my collection in the last six months) and they've all sucked...may as well give FURminator a shot, I guess. I really don't like having Theo shaved annually, but it's almost impossible to stay completely ahead of the mats. Maybe FURminator is the answer?

I know, I was surprised by that as well. I made me think about this lady who makes clothes from the dog hair she receives from pet owners...with FURminator in hand, one could extract enough hair to construct a entire warddrobe out of dog or cat hair. If they wanted. Ew.
