Yah, I'm totally OK. Hundreds of gorgeous trees lining the streets of my neighborhood were not so lucky, though. :( The 70-90mph winds caused a ridiculous amount of damage...snapping old trees in half, pulling others right out of the ground. Pretty intense.

Tristan sent me this email during the storm (he was at home, I was at work): "The storm is so scary... there were lounge chairs flying off the top of the building..."

I kinda wish I'd been in the city to see that part of the storm, lol; things were pretty tame in the 'burbs by comparison. It was totally insane, though. From your building, you can probably see the damage to my buildings landscaping. Police tape everywhere...trees pulled right out of the ground...smashed windshields...

Yah! It's a disaster outside! I saw it all this morning walking to my car -- broken trees everywhere.

I miss you, too! There is a distinct possibility we might be heading to Virginia in the near term. Tristan has a fellowship this year (and wants to see more of the US) + I have a bit more flexibility with my work schedule, so we could totally do a long weekend...
