Chicago Polar Plunge

Photographed the Chicago Polar Plunge today with my friends Bernie and Aurora.  We got there late late late...roughly 20 minutes before it was all over.  :(  Ah, well...there's always next year!

I can't imagine swimming here in Houston and its about 78 degrees!

Yah, even though it had warmed up to a balmy 45 degrees, the water was still in the 30s. It was pretty hilarious watching people react to the cold as if they'd been caught by surprise, haha. Anyway, despite/because of the icy temps everyone seemed to have a fantastic time...so much so that I considered for a split second participating next year; but then I came to my senses.

I know, I know...lol. It occurred to me afterwards that I'd basically turned this into "The Chicago Gay Pride Polar Plunge", lol. I'll be more inclusive next time. ;)

Yah, I agree. Poor guy, lol. Either he's bummed that it's over (that photo was taken at the very end of the run), or he's bummed about having been "on duty" and therefore unable to participate in all the fun. Either way, he's pretty bummed.
