Who told you you needed it cauterized, and why?

Trash and how it's disposed of.

What I'm doing about it? Sadly, nothing. It's next to impossible to recycle here in my apartment. I have absolutely NO room for recycling bins, even small ones. I've thought about using reusable shopping bags, but I use the plastic ones for trash bags. It's so convenient! I have been buying platic bottles of water. I buy about 12 a month, and those containers go straight into the trash. It's sad and bothers me. I could use the delivery service again, but it would cost me more than twice what I pay for the throw away containers. Maybe an extra $15-20 a month wouldn't be so bad. I don't know. Any ideas?

Yes, instead of buying bottled water get yourself a no-BPA (bisphenol-A, a neurotoxin in certain plastics) water bottle, with a filter if you can afford it (they can cost between $20-40 w/filter), and you can refill it anywhere and not worry about contaminants. You can also get yourself a Brita or Pur pitcher. Bottled water isn't necessarily the cleanest. It's been exposed as nothing more than bottled tap water in most cases, so there's no reason to buy it unless you're just really thirsty and there aren't any other great choices.
