Lionel isn't really the kind of guy to leave his room a mess, but it's a different kind of mess right now - books piled in a corner, half the spare bed covered in photos, most of his own bed the same.
He's a bit distracted when someone knocks on the door, and it's a couple of moments before he even gets up. The guy standing outside isn't anyone Lionel recognizes, though it's not as if he's hard to find. "Yes?"
Matt fidgeted awkwardly at the door. He was never good at this first meeting sort of thing. "Hi," he said, waggling his fingers in a little half-wave. "My name's Matt. I just got here to crazytown and the, uh, council-guy I talked to gave me a bedroom and it happened to be this one, so it looks like we're gonna be roomies."
He gave a cursory glance around the room, frowning a bit when he saw that the man had covered most of the room in photos. "If it's a problem and you need the room I can probably ask them to put me somewhere else, though, I totally don't wanna be in the way, man."
"Oh," Lionel says when the guy finally stops talking, and he steps back, opening the door. "No, hey, come in. I was wondering when they'd get someone new in here." He's not going to say that he doesn't like the privacy, though.
He shoves one hand in his pocket and holds the other out. "I'm Lionel Thayer."

Okay, that was a lie, but he didn't want to tick off the new roomie.
