I actually did read all of it. I didn't know how Canada's political system was run, anyway, I agree with you and it's no better here. Everyone worries about the 'popular issues' or how topic issues, but the ones that are really important and can be fixed with a little effort are brushed to the side. We have an idiotic president that just did massive budget cuts to pay for his war. Now healthcare, education, etc has taken a nosedive and that's stuff we really need. Just for once I'd like a politician who looked at what was needed instead of what got him voted. K,k done ranting.

Actually this made for quite the interesting read. I live very close to the border and so have taken some interest in the nation, but didn't really know much about how the election system worked for Canada. And yea, must agree with much of this.

Our last big worry was the talk about requiring passports to get into Canada. That would have been a royal pain if it was actually passed because living only an hour from the border plenty of people cross just for shopping, eating, concerts. There's Ontario and Quebec licence plates in our mall all the time. So yea, making passports would really serve no purpose other than to make our lives more difficult. It's not preventing terrorist or whoever to get through, cause they know how to get in if they want to. Plus most of the border patrol is mostly just looking for drug smugglers anyway. But you know, governments rarly think about how their dumb laws will effect us common folk.

Anyway, thought I'd add in my own lil' rant, found ur LJ through Kitty, nice to meet you.

Well it's nice to meet you. I appreciate the fact that people actually like my ranting, even get their own rant going because of it. I'm sure I'll have more to rant about in the future. There are a LOT of problems with this country, they're just less obvious than those in America's sometimes. :)
