Summary (at which I suck): Sam is given a choice by Michael in Lucifers cage.
In the end it was no contest. “Heaven or Earth, your pick, but I can’t help you if you choose the wrong one. This was not your destiny, nor was it mine, but Father has chosen. And now, so must you.” “Dean.” Your single word answers for you, and you see Michael’s fingers reach out. Your eyes close and in the space of a blink your world is rearranged dizzyingly. When you open them again you are standing in front of Lisa’s house where you can see Dean enjoying dinner with Lisa and Ben. After watching the domestic scene for hours, after the final light is turned off, then and only then do you turn away, tears in your eyes.
