Epic Songs...

I have been thinking a lot about songs that lead you in slowly then build you up into a glorious crescendo of emotions and slowly bring you down again. I love the emotional roller coaster that music can take you on. Music is one of my favourite pleasures, it can do so much for me, or with me or too me. Music evokes memories, or makes me feel things ( Read more... )

You pretty much covered mine. Operation MindCrime is a good concept album IMO but the followup, MindCrime Two was a major let down.

I was really disappointed with Mind Crim II as well, I love, love, loooooooooovvvvvee Operation Mind Crime on so many levels. I think it was the change in voice more then anythign that ruined it for me, and it was a bit too pop out of their normal style.

Yeah, Mindcrime II was a total letdown. It lacked a spark. Conceptually speaking, I could have written a better plot and conclusion. It's like Geoff didn't know where to take it. Granted that can happen to any writer, but you don't put something out unless you know it's strong enough.

Some good ones on your list...

I knew there had to be at least one Tori song, but so many to choose from I wasn't sure which one to go for. Epic songs are easier to do in a band situation I think rather then with solo artists.

I guess epic is a personal thing, what emotionally charges me might not charge others and vice versa
