Cycle 1 Rules & Information:
1] Anyone can join, as long as you are in fandom!
2] Keep wank out of the community. There will inevitably be some drama within the competition as with all competitions, but personal drama is just that: personal drama. Mud-slinging in the community posts will not be tolerated.
3] There will be three kinds of posts made to the community. The first type, prompt posts, will be made every Monday weekend, with the new topic for the week. The only responses to that post should be links to your weekly entries. The second type, vote posts, go up every Saturday. Comments will be disabled on these. The third type, the Daily post, will go up every day. There, contestants and watchers can chat about anything they like.
4] For responses to prompts, both plain pictures and video are allowed, and only plain pictures will ever be required (as we know not everyone has access to a video camera). However, the content must fit two criteria: 1) it must be self-made or self-assembled for the competition, and 2) it must be a recording of some sort (that is, no art or anything like that). For example, you cannot draw a picture of yourself, but you CAN make a short slideshow of multiple pictures of yourself. And note that you CAN be disqualified for too much photoshop. Keep it real.
5] Each contestant receives a small number of passes. A pass may be used to skip one of the weekly prompts. If you accidentally miss a prompt or make a response that has nothing to do with the prompt, a pass is automatically used. If you miss a prompt without a pass remaining, you are dropped from the competition.
6] Voting polls will be open from Friday to Monday, with all votes screened. Votes are cast for entries that you like, meaning the entries with the least votes will be dropped from the competition. The competition will start with voting open to "all" with a minimum number of votes required to pass, but there will be different types of voting, so watch out for them!
7] Do not complain to the mods that this is a popularity contest. Of course this is a popularity contest. It's FNTM!
