The kimonos themselves seem to follow a basic pattern. My housemate and I are going to be making matching kimonos (hers is blue with white spots, mine purple with white spots) using the same dimensions even though we're of very different body types. Having knocked off most of the stain kimono in an afternoon, it's the tying of the obi that seems to be the tricksy part of kimonos. Pattern wise they're proving to be glorified t-tunics.
No, no, no. I have cable ties in the corsets and dresses that I make instead of plastic or steel boning. They're about 30cm long and 8mm wide, so they're uber, machine washable, flexible yet supportive, and will generally tolerate most things I throw at them except for passing out in a corset made out of them whilst particularly drunk - they're not too fond of that.
I also love the kimono link. I really should get on to making my silk skirt and everything else I need to do. Stupid real life and actually having to find a job and studentship getting in the way.
