Being the Oldest Sucks

For all my life, I never defied my parents. Because I always thought they were correct and I knew there is no point in going against them. I was like a toy; said “yes” to everything. Because apparently, my opinion is always wrong.
Now comes my Sister. She is 6 years younger than me. The youngest and everyone’s favorite. She has my parents wrapped around her fingers.
We never really traveled anywhere. Mom hates airplanes and Dad is busy. I never tried to force my parents to take us anywhere. They don’t want to, and I understand.
Recently, my sister has been bugging them nonstop about traveling and they are actually considering it. They are seriously thinking about it.
When I was her age, I didn’t try to even think about asking because I knew it was impossible.

Where am I going with this……

I don’t know…..It is just that…
She does stuff I thought was forbidden to me when I was her age. I try to tell her off but I get surprised with my parents cheering her on. Where was that excitement when I did the exact same thing as a child?

Being the oldest child sucks. Parents are always strict to us. They always expect A LOT from us. We get harsh consequences from doing simple mistakes than younger siblings, who basically get away with doing anything.
