There isn't one. The place is named Somarium. You're either in Somni or Espoir.

[Javert stares at this newcomer dourly.

The Inspector can recognize a gypsy when they flounce about in such a manner, having been born around such folk. From the showy clothes, to the dark complexion, to the inappropriate name, to the flamboyant manner of speech, Javert did not have a pleasant feeling about this man. All that is missing is the gypsy wagon. 'Clopin Trouillefou' is one the Inspector intends to keep his eye on.

But he has committed no misdeeds yet. For now, Javert will maintain his customary vaguely unpleasant, cold, but abrupt manner of a vigilant detective.]

'Limping Scared Fool.'

[Fool? Maybe. Limping and scared? Somehow Javert doubts it. There's a twitch at the corner of his mouth.]

Did you choose that name for yourself?

[And just as Javert can spot a gypsy, a gypsy can spot a man of law.]

Well well well, what have we here? A man of the law hmm? Truly and honestly even this place has just become all the more.... [Grins.] Interesting.

Tell me monsieur, what exactly is my crime? I am but a new arrival in a world I don't recall traveling to. Unless merely being is my crime? And if that's the case...

[His grin widens.]

Interesting indeed.

[Javert arches a brow.]

Very good. You've got a nice, sharp eye. Clever. Unsurprising.

[A long pause while the Inspector carefully examines this... specimen. the clothing is archaic, but clearly, this is a French-born gypsy. Of the showman or street performer sort.]

Come! I didn't answer your call to thrust baseless accusations on a newcomer. Be nice. [Then slowly, with purpose,] Or is it your guilty conscience that speaks?

A gypsy can catch fast where the ever so noble and faithful man of the law is about. They're all the same no matter where you go. Just as every gypsy is the same to them.

[Allow him to pause at Javert's comment about no baseless accusations. Well now this was new.]

My my my, a different sort of law man! A different sort.... for now. Tell me law man, have you a name?

[The first thing that Chopin noted was this man clearly had some sort of french background, due to his name and language... However, from one look he could also tell that this man was clearly a gypsy. While he had seen many gypsy's in paris, he had not really associated with them. All he knew, was their reputation. They were known as untrustworthy and troublesome by most of the french nobility.

Then again, he knew many who were considered to be the same, and were truly wonderful people. Even so, the suspicious nature of this newcomer's claims would probably be best mentioned.]

You must realize that it is typically those who claim to be harmless that are indeed harmful, Monsieur Trouillefou.

Ahhh the unfortunate fate of my kind. Such is the undoing of truth. Harmless in intent and so very detrimental in reality. But the truth is all much more fun than a lie.

But be that as it may, I can't not undo what is done. Nor would I if I could.

Nor does what has been done in the past have much meaning in this world, Though, of course, that also implies that you have done something which is worth defending.

... However, it is not my place to judge. After all, all of those who are here in this place are the same, and almost none know of the world that we came from. Only the present matters, so...

Clearly you must have noticed this is not France. This place, in fact, is another world entirely.

Judge away Monsieur. A gypsy is well acquainted with people who have no place in judging. How truly noble to think all here are the same.

Noticed, noted, notable still is that even though this is a different world that you speak French, know of the good nation, and well... I am not so surprised you know a gypsy when you see one.
