Now, it was bad enough that when the person started the post, the mod told him that he needed to include a statement of what Prop 8 was and why people should vote against it (um...because voting against our own right to marriage is stupid? Right? I mean, knowing something in the abstract then being startled when it suddenly hits home is one thing - that I get. It's the absolute indignance and shock that people actually view us differently. Where is this rock, and how do I get there?

Well, if you've always lived in a liberal enclave that is accepting of homosexuality, in a city or state that offers benefits, and you're not that politically active, I can see how ignorance of the world (or at least country) as a whole is perpetuated.
