I never liked him [Joseph Gordon-Levitt] as an actor *gasp!* O_O
Two films which have their problems but I think Levitt brings something special to the table: Mysterious Skin Hesher It's definitely much more those movies rather than "Brick", "Looper" or "Inception" that make me so interested in this actor.
I headbanged most of the way through “Metallica: Through The Never,” which I guess is a recommendation.
Ooooh, sounds like it! :D
Don't suppose you've been to a Metallica concert or seen them perform at a festival or anything like that? Would make an interesting comparison. How close does this get to the cinematic version of a live performance? (I suppose stuff like the crowd makes a big difference that a movie is never really going to capture.)
If there’s anything Hollywood screws up, it’s the idea that just about any action sequence can be scored by an orchestra fronted by some Hans Zimmer-alike. Why not try Metallica next time, guys?Oooh, interesting point. Though I do remember watching "The Recruit" and finding it odd how

The 3D effect in Metallica allows for some swirling cameras to swoop over the stage and get closeups of every member of the band, each of whom are isolated in one corner of a massive stage where they frequently trade places. Also, their stage show is very active, lots of props and pyrotechnics - seeing a giant Lady Justice crumble and fall to the floor next to Lars Ulrich wailing on his drums was pretty cool.
Well, all members of the band are dynamic stage performers, so they're really coming at you - particularly Raoul Trujillo, who plays the guitar like a spider-monkey crawling all over the stage.
