I'm taking online law this summer and I just had to write a debate on youth crime and whether or not youth offenders should get the same punishment as adults. I took the side that most people glare at you and call you a certain five letter word for

I think it really depends on the crime and if they've had a history of it. But otherwise I think adolescents should be treated as adults with crimes.

Just to add on misskitty's comment, I also think I need to hear the definition of youth you're using. Social responsibility is awesome and I'm not a fan of people taking away agency from youth but I'll just put it this way. A 14 year old committing a crime would probably benefit a lot more from a close look at their social conditions and a youth-focused rehabilitation program than just slapping on an adult sentence.

Oddly enough,
I can't tell which side most people would hate you for.
I'm guessing, the side that dictates that youth offenders should get the same punishment as an adult.
