Hope everybody's holiday went well! Mine certainly did - had the siblings home, and Christmas eve wasn't a travesty like last year, probably because we went to our OLD church, full of people who know perfectly well that most folks just want to come, see old friends, sing a lot of carols and light some candles, and then go home to their families

some notable gifts were the full collection of Sherlock Holmes short stories and The Hound of the Baskervilles as they originally appeared in the Strand magazine. With over 350 illustrations by Sidney Paget.
