So tired, taking this day off from life to just stay in bed. Its raining hard, phooey, it's like our third or fourth day of summer. Watched the new season of True blood, Workaholics, and some other stuff. I must get up now, to eat. And bake a cake. Which involves going to the grocery store to get butter. Which is NOT staying in bed, so I may just

I am planning my next cake adventure. I need to get dream layer cake right. I plan to make my standard dense chocolate cake (which is moist due to a cup of water and rich due to the combination of cocoa and half a block of dark chocolate) layered with a cream made from ganache blended with whipped cream. I *think* that is how they made the cake in the shop that tasted almost exactly like dream cake. I might put some butter in the cream too.

And brandy/rum.

This sounds remarkably close to my go to chocolate cake lately, nigellas devils food cake, it's really really good. The frosting is very interesting, being liquidy even when cool than suddenly deciding to seize up to become spreadable. The cake is velvety without being too dense. I need to make this cake NOW.
